Diversity & Inclusion

The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion in its service delivery and in its workforce, and in the community at large.  We recognize the existence of structural racism, and universally condemn all forms of discrimination and oppression.   We are committed to providing education and taking actions that hold ourselves and others accountable while advancing our mission.  We strive to lead with our values and fully appreciate the strengths brought about by our diversity.

Tribal Territory

We at SCADD acknowledge that our buildings inhabit areas in the tribal territory of the Mashantucket Pequot, Eastern Pequot, Mohegan, and Western Nehântick Peoples who have provided stewardship throughout the generations.

We honor and respect the enduring relationship that exists between these tribal nations and this land and these waters.

We endeavor to uphold our responsibilities according to their example. As a provider of treatment for substance use disorders, an epidemic which disproportionately effects indigenous peoples, we promise to care for our community as honorably as they have cared for these lands.
