A Leader in Substance Use Treatment and Innovation

Since 1966, SCADD has remained at the forefront of substance use disorder treatment, continuously evolving to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities across Southeastern Connecticut. Our commitment to innovation, evidence-based care, and compassionate support drives the programs and services we provide every day.

Our work includes:

  • Licensed primary care services at three locations, supporting the integration of physical and behavioral health.
  • The only hepatitis C treatment provider within residential treatment programs in Connecticut, expanding access to critical medical care for individuals in recovery.
  • Development and implementation of a stimulant withdrawal management protocol, ensuring safe and effective care for individuals experiencing stimulant use disorder.
  • A dedicated Trauma Track at our Lebanon Pines campus, providing specialized, trauma-informed treatment designed to address the underlying experiences that often accompany substance use disorders.
  • Startup of the first Medically Enhanced Recovery House, expanding recovery housing options for individuals who need additional medical oversight while continuing their recovery journey.
  • Recognition as a Recovery Friendly Workplace, reflecting our commitment to supporting both recovery and professional growth.
  • In-house professional development opportunities, including training for CBT/REBT Level One Certification.
  • In-house training for Recovery Coach Certification, helping to expand peer-based recovery support.
  • Wellbriety Movement programming, incorporating the Native American Red Road to Recovery with trained staff facilitating culturally responsive groups focused on healing from intergenerational trauma.
